-abled

> -abled
-abled is a suffix meaning "able-bodied". It is most usually found in such phrases as "differently abled", a "politically correct", more positive way of referring to people with some form of disability, as in "provide access to the club building for differently abled members". In common with many politically correct terms, it is disliked by many people, including many disabled people.
ableism or ablism
means discrimination in favour of able-bodied people as in "people in wheelchairs unable to get jobs because of ableism". Also known as able-bodiedism and able-bodism. Note that the suffix "-ism" is often used to indicate discrimination against the group to which it refers, as in "ageism".
