correspondent and co-respondent are liable to be confused. Correspondent refers either to "a person who communicates by letter", as in "They were correspondents for years but had never met", or to "a person who contributes news items to a newspaper or radio or television programme", as in "the foreign correspondent of the Times". A co-respondent is "a person who has been cited in a divorce case as having committed adultery with one of the partners".
