xerox

> Xerox
Xerox causes problems with regard to both spelling and pronunciation. It is a registered trademark for "a type of photographic process used for copying documents, etc", as in "a Xerox photocopier", or "a copy made using this process", as in "a Xerox of the contract". Since it is a registered trademark the noun must be spelt with a capital letter. Xerox can also be a verb meaning "to copy a document using the Xerox process" and can be spelt with either a capital letter or a lower-case letter, as in "Please Xerox/xerox these letters before posting them".
